What makes cellulite so stubborn?

When we start to see ripples on the skin, it is because clumps of fatty deposits have developed just beneath the layer of connective tissue that runs perpendicular the skin. This creates somewhat of a basket-weave pattern (actually the pattern of connective tissue is different in men and women). Rippling indicates that fatty tissue is pushing up through the spaces in between the strong fibrous bands of connective tissue tethered to structure farther beneath the surface. It may seem as though this problem could be resolved by removing fat, but history has proven this theory wrong.
