Alissa leads patient care at Ong Institute, bringing her extensive nursing background in critical and surgical care.
After graduating from Indiana University School of Nursing, she spent years mastering complex patient care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit before joining Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s surgical unit.
Today, Alissa works along with Dr. Ong in a variety of procedures and surgeries, as well as performing non-surgical procedures and specialized IV therapies.
Her gentle approach and careful attention help women feel at ease during their treatments. Patients often mention how her calm presence and skilled hands make their experience more comfortable.
When she’s not caring for patients, Alissa spends time with her daughter exploring Arizona’s hiking trails, connecting with nature, and traveling to new destinations.
Amber brings a wealth of experience in nursing, with a specialized background in surgical care and pediatric liver transplantation, to the Ong Institute team.
A graduate of Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada, Amber began her career in general pediatrics and neonatal intensive care before moving into surgical nursing and pediatric liver transplant services. Her journey has taken her across the globe—from Canada to Africa and Saudi Arabia, and eventually to the United States, where she served as a travel nurse in various states.
In 2022, Amber expanded her expertise by completing a Holistic Health and Nutrition Coaching program through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Since then, she has been actively coaching clients in Functional Medicine, guiding them on their wellness journeys.
Her deep understanding of both allopathic and holistic approaches to health makes her an invaluable member of our team, where she supports a wide range of procedures and administers specialized IV therapies.
When she’s not caring for patients, Amber enjoys hiking, practicing yoga and Pilates, honing her DJ skills, and organizing monthly wellness events for the local community.
Flavia serves as Dr. Cheri’s Executive Assistant, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication for Dr. Ong’s professional commitments.
She coordinates logistics and manages communications, fostering a supportive environment for our patients. With a background in women’s empowerment, Flavia brings a unique perspective to her role.
In her free time, she loves to express herself through art and explore new places and cultures.
