The use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has grown tremendously in sexual medicine due to its proven regenerative potential. The G-Shot is a procedure used to describe the injection of fillers, most commonly HA fillers (such as Restylane® or Juvederm®) to augment the area where the nerves are located to increase the volume and surface area of contact in order to enhance the orgasm response during sex. Dr. Ong places two injections for the O-Shot®: one in the clitoris and one in the vaginal wall.
These are meant to be single treatments. But we have found that a second session 6 to 12 months after the first session maximizes benefits.
Every patient responds a little differently to these injections. Some of Dr. Ong’s O-Shot® patients report an immediate improvement. But that’s not the norm. For most patients, the growth factors usually take about two weeks to fully take effect. From there, results build to a maximum level in 3 to 4 months.
Our Ong Institute patients report results lasting from 1 to 2 years. Ongoing annual maintenance O-Shot® treatments maintain your results.
There’s not any reason to increase the frequency of your O-Shot®. Dr. Ong recommends returning when you notice a drop in your sensitivity and the other benefits from the O-Shot®. So, while there isn’t a limit to how often you can have an O-Shot®, you will see greater results with more frequent injections.
The O-shot® procedure is safe if performed by a knowledgeable and experienced doctor. Not everyone is a good candidate for this procedure. If Dr. Ong is unable to perform the procedure for medical reasons, she can guide you to other treatment alternatives that can help.
Of the hundreds of patients that Dr. Ong has treated, the pain has been reported as mild (2-3 out of a scale of 10). She takes several steps to help reduce the discomfort you might experience. This may include the use of topical anesthetic cream, local anesthetic block, ice, or other cooling devices for anesthesia. The anticipation and thought of the procedure usually causes more anxiety and stress for the patient than the actual procedure itself.
