I found this article, written in 2013 to be helpful in understanding how the Coronavirus affects the body.
What is a Coronavirus?
The novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, is now called COVID-19. Research evidence suggests that SARS-CoV-2, MERS-CoV( Middle East Respiratory Syndrome ) and the original SARS-CoV (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) that caused wide-spread disease across the world belong to the Coronavirus family.
The Coronavirus is identified based on its structure with envelopes with spikes (called peplomers) on its surface much alike a coronal (crown-like appearance).
How does it attack and spread?
The virus attacks cells by fusing its outer layer envelope into the host cell and penetrating into the cell. The coronavirus usually infects animals. In humans, this virus typically causes a mild flu. Researchers believe that the quick spread and more severe infection of COVID-19 in humans are due to a viral mutation.
Once the virus enters the cells, it replicates inside the host cell and new viruses that are being produced (called virions) are released into the blood circulation which goes on to infect other cells.
Incubation period is 2-10 days. Transmission of the virus is via the respiratory route where it infects through aerosol and droplet contact with mucosal surfaces lining) of the mouth, nose, throat, and eyes.
This article can be helpful to understand how the virus attacks your cells.
How does our body fight the virus?
The body fights against most viral illnesses through TH1 activation which is initiated quickly using T immune cells without the development of antibodies.
What is ozone?
Ozone (O3) is a naturally occurring substance of three oxygen atoms which has powerful biological activities. The way ozone works can be quite complex but it can be compared to the conductor of an orchestra. Ozone orchestrates the activation of the immune system.
Ozone therapies
Ozone therapies can be administered in several ways. Ozone has been used as a direct disinfectant for centuries to kill viruses, bacteria, and fungus on surfaces.
Medically, ozone, administered into the body via a technique called Major Autohemotherapy (MAH) allows for ozone to be mixed into blood via an IV line. This is the most direct way of ozone delivery.
Why Ozone works for Viral Infections
Viruses that possess the outer envelope are more sensitive to the effects of ozone than other viruses. Ozone, when mixed with blood, create ozonides, which can disrupt this outer envelope and inactivate the virus. Without this outer envelope, the virus cannot replicate itself and cannot attack other cells.
In addition, the effect of immune system activation by ozone can directly reduce the number of circulating virus in the bloodstream.
Ozone is a powerful tool against viral infections.
Therapies available to enhance your immune system
Our strategies to optimize our immune system at the Ong Institute are:
- Ozone therapy
- Immune supplements to boost the Natural Killer System, our arm of the immune system specific for killing viruses.
- Thymus gland Immune Peptides, Thymosin Alpha-1, and Thymosin Beta-4 used intravenously with ozone therapy.
- Vitamin C, and other antioxidant intravenous therapies.
These advanced treatments, including ozone therapy, are available to clients through our Regenerate Program.
