What is Silhouette InstaLift?

We might describe the Silhouette InstaLift as a nice in-between procedure. It is more in-depth than injectables and achieves more dramatic results but it is not as extensive as a surgical facelift. Also, we should note that, as a thread technique, the Silhouette InstaLift is also not nearly the same procedure as the thread lifts that were common several years ago. While this technique does include precise insertion of biodegradable filaments under the skin, the stability of treatment comes from bidirectional cones that are much gentler and more secure than the barbs that were initially used.

Silhouette InstaLift treatment is conducted after tissue is numbed with a local anesthetic. No general anesthesia or sedation is necessary for patients to be completely comfortable. As threads are inserted into place, patients may feel slight tugging or pressure that feels unusual but not uncomfortable. Once threads are inserted, Dr. Ong gently presses the skin upward and outward. This secures the cones into subcutaneous layers of tissue for a lifted appearance.

The immediate lift that is achieved with treatment is advantageous. However, patients also enjoy progressive improvements as the threads provoke collagen production that continues for several months. As the filaments dissolve, new collagen fibers are in place to hold the skin more firmly.
